What are the registration fees
used for?
Player fees cover club administrative costs, team equipment, referee fees, and
membership fees in the youth soccer associations that we are affiliated with -
MAYSA, and WYSA. The club uses the excess for our coach training and field
improvements. The remainder is kept in reserve.
Are there any additional costs?
U-9 through U-19 (Grades 2-12) divisions require a team uniform. The club soccer
uniform cost for U-9 through U-10 is $45. This includes a jersey, t-shirt,
shorts, and socks. The uniform cost for U-11 through U-14 is $55. This includes
a two jerseys, shorts, and socks. (U11 - U19 Classic level teams may opt to
purchase a higher quality uniform for $80.) Team t-shirts are provided for the
younger ages at no additional fee. Each child is responsible for supplying
shoes, shin guards, and a soccer ball.
When is the soccer season?
There are two seasons – fall and spring. The fall season typically runs from the
Sept. through October. The spring season begins in early to mid April and
continues through early June.
How many games are there?
Each team plays 8 games per season (8 in the fall and 8 in the spring).
How many practices are there?
The number of practices your child will be required to attend will depend on
their age and the coach. K-1 teams have a half hour practice right before each
game. Typically U-8 through U-14 teams will have at least one practice per week.
The U-10 and up teams often have 2 practices per week.
What additional equipment or clothing does my child need?
Shin guards are required for all practices and games. Shin guards should be
completely covered by the player’s socks. Each player should bring an
appropriately sized ball [Size 3 (K-1 and U-8); Size 4 (U9-U12) and Size 5 (U13
and older)] and a full water bottle to practices and games.
Does my child need soccer shoes or will tennis shoes do okay?
Tennis shoes will do just fine for younger players although they may prove to be
slippery if fields are wet. Older players or wet and muddy conditions may
require soccer shoes. Cleats cannot be made of metal and baseball style cleats
are unacceptable.
How are recreational roster openings filled? Do coaches pick their
players?
The coach does not select new players for recreational teams, however players
may request a particular team or coach. Every effort is made to honor these
requests. Coaches are allowed to register their current team members for the
following season. Players are added as their registrations are received.
How many players on a team?
K-1 teams play 3 v 3 and have a maximum roster size of 12 players.
U-8 teams play 4 v 4 and have a maximum roster size of 12 players.
U-9 and U-10 teams play 6 v 6 and have a maximum roster size of 12 players.
